Why do zippers say YKK on them?
Zippers were designed relatively recently, in 1891 when Whitcomb L. Judson created the claps locker and then, in 1913 the swedish Gideon Sundback developed a zipper with metal teeth. Our story begins later, with metal and plastic, when a company was founded in Japan by Yoshida Kogyo Kabushikikaisha.
The company was dedicated to utilizing custom machines set to produce zippers. Right now it is by far the world’s largest producer of zippers of any kind, with 109 parent companies and factories in 71 countries.
How many dimples are there on a golf ball?
You might have heard, again as a useless trivia that golf balls have 320 dimples. Although there are golf balls with this number, this is not a necessity. The Rules of Golf, governed by the USGA, state in Appendix III that the diameter of a “conforming” golf ball cannot be any smaller than 1.680 inches (42.67 mm), and the weight of the ball may not exceed 1.620 ounces (45.93 g), but there is no mention in the dimples. What color is a Mirror?
