Zippers were designed relatively recently, in 1891 when Whitcomb L. Judson created the claps locker and then, in 1913 the swedish Gideon Sundback developed a zipper with metal teeth. Our story begins later, with metal and plastic, when a company was founded in Japan by Yoshida Kogyo Kabushikikaisha.
The company was dedicated to utilizing custom machines set to produce zippers. Right now it is by far the world’s largest producer of zippers of any kind, with 109 parent companies and factories in 71 countries.
