“The Guardian” first to go online in 1995

“The Guardian”, the British national daily newspaper, founded in 1821 and was known as The Manchester Guardian until 1959. 

The Guardian started developing the online publication in 1994-1995 and in 1996-1998 it started hosting sites for jobs, certain sports, and news events.

The Guardian Unlimited was launched as a unified whole in January 1999 and by March 2001 it had over 2.4 million unique users, making it the most popular UK newspaper website!
