2. ‘Spacey’ is not a combination of the name Spencer Tracy. Despite numerous reports to the contrary, Spacey is actually Kevin Spacey’s mother’s maiden name, and in no way a tribute to the famed acting legend. ‘Kevin’ is also Spacey’s birth name and not a combination of Ken Loach and Vin Diesel, but you probably already knew that.

3. He was born in Spacey was born in South Orange, New Jersey.

4. Spacey was kicked out of military school for fighting. From his villainous roles in Superman Returns and Se7en, we always knew Spacey had a dark side to him. The actor attended the Northridge Military Academy in the 10th and 11th grade, only to be expelled for hitting a classmate with a tyre. We’re not quite sure how Spacey managed to sneak a tyre into class but perhaps that’s a mystery left unsolved.

5. His father was a technical writer and his mother was a secretary.
