We have seen two Robin Hood movies in the past, but now we have a new one as we are moving towards the end of 2018.
Robin Hood is a character that is really interesting and some people love the way he defends the poor against the rich.
These are some facts about the new Robin Hood movie you should know:
- The new Robin Hood is a 2018 American action-adventure film directed by Otto Bathurst and written by Ben Chandler and David James Kelly, from a story by Chandler.
- The movie is based on the tale of Robin Hood, and follows his training by John to steal from the Sheriff of Nottingham.
- The film stars Taron Egerton, Jamie Foxx, Ben Mendelsohn, Eve Hewson, Tim Minchin, and Jamie Dornan.
- So, what does the plot tell us? Robin of Loxley enjoys a good life with his lover, Marian, before he is enlisted to fight in the Crusades against the Muslims. After five years away from England, Robin becomes disgusted with the Crusades when he witnesses his commander, Sir Guy of Gisborne, kill a boy despite the pleading of the boy’s father, which prompts Gisborne to send Robin back to England.
- The project was first announced on February 26, 2015, when a third Robin Hood script was announced written by Joby Harold, which Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way would produce.
- There were two scripts already in the works: one at Disney titled Nottingham & Hood and another at Sony titled Hood.
- Filming began on February 20, 2017 at different locations in Dubrovnik, Croatiaand in Le Raincy, France and it was concluded on May 19.
- The movie was released in the United States in standard theatres by Lionsgate’s Summit Entertainment on November 21, 2018.
- The music for the movie was created by Joseph Trapanese.
- The running time of the movie is 116 minutes.
