Why do people talk of ‘male generation’ in China?

Did you know that China has 32.7 million more males than females under the age of 20 according to a new demographic study conducted by Chinese researchers?People use to talk of the ‘male generation’ as for every 100 girls, 120 boys were born in China in 2005. It is said that this  population imbalance is due to the opportunity that parents have to determine their child’ s sex.

The Chinese government has expressed concern over issue, which is going to become more extreme over the next ten years or so.
