What does “Karaoke” mean?

Karaoke, the form of interactive entertainment, in which amateur singers sing along with recorded music, is known all over the world, as it spreads joy and loads of laughing!It is claimed, that the karaoke styled machine was invented by Japanese musician Daisuke Inoue in Kobe, Japan, in 1971.

Karaoke means “empty” orchestra in Japanese (kara 空 “empty” and ōkesutora オーケストラ “orchestra”) and there are various disputes about who first invented  its name.
