Leo Tolstoy was a Russian writer and creator of the two long novels, War and Peace (1869) and Anna Karenina (1877).Tolstoy died in 1910 but his ideas on nonviolent resistance had great impact on twentieth-century figures as Mohandas Gandhi and Martin Luther King.
“War and Peace” is regarded as one of the most important works of world literature and it took him six years to write it!
