Barack Obama is an American politician who was the 44th President of the United States. He is the first African American to be elected to the U.S. presidency and the first one born outside the contiguous United States.

1. Barack Hussein Obama II was born August 4, 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

2. He is the first President to have been born in Hawaii.

3. His mother, Ann Dunham, born in Wichita, Kansas, was of mostly English ancestry.
