When was the first keyboard invented?

The typewriter is considered to be the greater ancestor of  the computer and the invention of the modern computer keyboard began with the invention of the typewriter.

Did you know that in 1868 Christopher Latham Sholes patented the typewriter that we commonly use today? Later, in 1877 it was the  Remington Company which marketed the first typewriters.

The transition of the typewriter to the computer keyboard occurred after a few key technological developments. The teletype machine, introduced in the 1930s, combined the technology of the typewriter with the telegraph.
