Venus rotates backwards from the rest of the planets

Venus, whose name was taken after the Roman goddess of love and beauty, is the second planet from the Sun, orbiting it every 224.7 Earth days and has no natural satellite.

Venus rotates backwards from the other planets, as it rotates clockwise, what is called “retrograde rotation”.

All the planets of the Solar System orbit the Sun in an anti-clockwise direction as viewed from above the Sun’s north pole. Most planets also rotate on their axis in an anti-clockwise direction.
