15. Additional series regulars include Olivia Wilde, Ray Romano, Ato Essandoh, Max Casella, P.J. Byrne, J.C. MacKenzie, Birgitte Hjort Sørensen, Juno Temple, Jack Quaid, James Jagger and Paul Ben-Victor.
16. Executive Producer and Vinyl writer Terence Winter previously wrote The Wolf of Wall Street and Boardwalk Empire for Scorsese’s direction.
17. In February 12, Atlantic Records and Warner Bros Records will release Vinyl: Music From the HBO Original Series – Volume 1, and the music will keep coming weekly throughout the show’s 10-episode run, in weekly releases of digital EPs on iTunes.
18. Jagger first suggested the idea to Martin Scorsese in 1996. He envisioned a three-hour-long movie encompassing 40 years of the music industry – but then they covered this ground factually in 2008’s Shine a Light.
19. The music makers are very impressive. The team behind the Vinyl EP won a Grammy in 2012 for their work on the Boardwalk Empire compilation soundtrack.
20. Mick suggested his 30-year-old son James for the role of Kip. But Papa Jagger wasn’t present on set – he’s no helicopter parent.
21. James Jagger can do a spookily accurate Martin Scorsese impression. And Scorsese can, in turn, can do a pitch-perfect impersonation of his muse, Robert De Niro.
22. Scorsese has slotted in unused footage from Taxi Driver. To give an even more authentic feel to the show – his fans are going to be thrilled.
