On Sunday, 9 September 2018, Nia Franklin was crowned Miss America 2019 and she imprested a lot of people with her looks, her personality and her amazing voice.

The Miss America pageant  did not feature this year the iconic swimsuit and evening gown competitions, so the contestants had to show off more of their personalities and they had to answer a lot of questions so they can show their knowledge.

Nia Franklin impressed everybody when she decided to sing  “Quando m’en vo”” from the opera, La bohème and wowed the crowd.

2. She was born July 27, 1993.
3. Nia Frankilin was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and moved to New York City in 2017.
4. In June 2018, she was crowned Miss New York 2018.
5. She composed her first song at age six.
6. Nia Franklin attended The University of North Carolina School of the Arts and her college Major is in Music Composition.
7. She has mentioned that she was a minority in her school, but she was able to connect wither  peers based on their mutual love of the arts.
8. When she was a freshmen in college, her father was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma .
9. Nia Franklin donated stem cells as part of her fathers treatment in 2013.
10. She entered pageantry as a way to pay for college and she has won a total of 17.250 dollars.
