Keith Flint was one of the most unique personalities in the music scene! He was the frontman of the band Prodigy!

  2. He was born on 17 September 1969
  3. He died on 4 March 2019
  4. He was an English singer, musician and dancer
  5. He was the vocalist and dancer for the electronic music band The Prodigy
  6. He sang on the group’s two 1996 UK number one singles – “Firestarter” and “Breathe”
  7. He was also the lead singer of his own band Flint
  8. He owned a motorcycle race team, Team Traction Control
  9. Which won three Isle of Man TT races in 2015
  10. It competed in the British Supersport Championship running Yamaha YZF-R6 motorcycles
  11. Keith Flint was born in Redbridge, London, England
  12. His parents were Clive and Yvonne Flint
  13. He was initially raised in East London
  14. In the mid-1970s his parents moved out to Springfield, Essex
  15. Keith Flint attended the Boswells School in Chelmsford
  16. He moved to Braintree after leaving school
  17. In the late 1980s, keith Flint met DJ Liam Howlett at local rave club the Barn in Braintree
  18. He expressed his appreciation of Howlett’s taste in music
  19. After receiving a mixtape from Howlett, Flint came back with great enthusiasm
  20. Insisting that Howlett should be playing his tracks up on stage
  21. And that Flint, along with friend Leeroy Thornhill, would dance to them
  22. Originally Keith Flint was the band’s dancer
  23. But in 1996 he featured as the vocalist on the hit single “Firestarter”

  25. This trend continued with the next Prodigy single “Breathe”
  26. On which Flint performed the lead vocals
  27. Whilst Maxim performed backup
  28. The 1997 album The Fat of the Land featured Flint’s vocal contributions to several tracks
  29. Namely “Breathe”, “Serial Thrilla”, “Fuel My Fire” and “Firestarter”
  30. In 2002, the single “Baby’s Got a Temper” was released
  31. On the next Prodigy album, Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned (2004), Keith Flint did not perform any vocals
  32. Although he did appear on the “Hotride – El Batori Mix”
  33. On the “Hotride” single
  34. The Prodigy album, Invaders Must Die, was released on 23 February 2009
  35. It featured vocals by Keith Flint on multiple tracks
  36. Keith Flint released a single titled “War” with dubstep artist Caspa in 2012
  37. Keith Flint experimented with several solo/side projects
  38. Including the bands Flint and Clever Brains Fryin’
  39. Only one single, “Aim4” by Flint, was released commercially
  40. With Flint’s debut album, Device #1, being cancelled before release
  41. Keith Flint was a keen motorcyclist
  42. He rode 1,500 miles from England to southern Spain
  43. To attend the 2007 Spanish motorcycle Grand Prix

  47. His team competed in the British Supersport Championship as part of the British Superbike Championship package

  51. Keith Flint was subsequently married to Mayumi Kai
  52. She is a Japanese DJ
  53. In 2014, he bought and renovated The Leather Bottle pub in Pleshey, Essex
  54. He ended his connection with the pub in 2017
  55. Keith Flint was married to Mayumi Kai, a Japanese DJ in 2006
  56. On the morning of 4 March 2019, following concerns for his welfare, police were called to Flint’s home, in Great Dunmow, Essex
  57. There he was found dead
  58. The police were not treating his death as suspicious
  59. His bandmate Liam Howlett stated via Instagram that his death was a suicide
  60. To commemorate him the band posted an extensive post on instagram
