  21. Oliver Jackson-Cohen was originally cast as the Duke of Buckingham but had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts and was later replaced by Jacob Fortune-Lloyd.
  22. François Civil was the first choice of director Martin Bourboulon and producer Dimitri Rassam for the role of D’Artagnan.
  23. Civil was also the first actor who was cast for the project.

  25. François Civil performed 90% of his own stunts in the two films following an intense six-month preparation on fencing, sword-fighting and horseback riding.

She held the titles of Infanta of Spain and of Portugal. She is often referred to as “Anne of Austria” because the Spanish royal family belonged to the senior branch of the House of Austria, which later became known as the House of Habsburg. She became Queen consort of France at the age of 14 when she married 14-year-old King Louis XIII in November 1615. She never spoke English as the movie shows. She spoke French with a heavy Spanish accent according to historians. She was 26 years old in 1627, the year the movie is set in.
  27. 2000 costumes, 930 technicians, 650 horses and 9,000 extras were used in the production.
  28. On 21 October 2022, Pathé and Chapter 2 announced they are developing two spin-off TV series titled Milady Origins and Black Musketeer.
  29. Pathé and Chapter 2 presented a 15-minute promo reel of the film at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival.
  30. The film’s official soundtrack album was released by Milan Records on 5 April 2023.
