He appeared in the Doctor Aphra comics and the novel Doctor Aphra by Sarah Kuhn. In Marvel Comics’ Star Wars (2016), Black Krrsantan (also known as “BK”, “Black K”, or “Santy”) was hired by Jabba the Hutt to kidnap Owen Lars (Luke Skywalker’s uncle) for not paying his water tax. Owen was rescued by Obi-Wan Kenobi, who fought BK, scarring him with his lightsaber in the process. Later, he was was hired by Vader to track down an agent of the Emperor.
  17. Boba Fett was 10 years old in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002). This series takes place 31 years later, around 5 years after Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983), making him 41. This is the same age Temuera Morrison was when he played Jango Fett in Attack of the Clones.
  18. Temuera Morrison first appeared as Boba Fett’s father, Jango Fett, in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002), and then as Commander Cody in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005). In the 2004 DVD release of Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back (1980) (originally released in 1980), Morrison provided a voice-over for Boba Fett, who was originally played by Jeremy Bulloch and voiced by Jason Wingreen. Bulloch died on December 17, 2020, just a day before the season finale of The Mandalorian (2019) aired, which included the official announcement of The Book of Boba Fett.
  19. In the first episode of The Book of Boba Fett, three real life Boston Dynamics “Spot” robots can be seen in the streets of Mos Espa, covered in a new exterior.
  20. In Season 5, Episode 19 of Parks and Recreation, (2012-2013) Garth Blundin presents his idea for the 7th chapter of the Star Wars saga during his citizen filibuster. What he describes is very close to the opening of Episode 1 of The Book of Boba Fett.
  21. In reality, Ming-Na Wen is three years younger than Temuera Morrison. However, in the Star Wars universe, Fennec Shand was already a grown up at the end of the Clone Wars as seen in Star Wars: The Bad Batch: Cornered (2021) while Boba Fett was still in his mid-teens.
  22. This series was announced following a post-credits scene for The Mandalorian episode The Mandalorian: Chapter 16: The Rescue (2020).
  23. Pedro Pascal never physically portrayed Din Djarin for this show as he was filming The Last Of Us. He recorded his lines on breaks.
  24. The RX-24 / R-3X / Rex droid from the original Star Tours makes a cameo in the cantina as a gambling dealer. Promoted from Galactic-passenger bus pilot to cantina DJ after Star Tours was overhauled, poor Rex now has now been demoted to one of the Galaxy’s shortest lifespans for a droid: staring down the blaster barrels of gamblers accusing each other and the droid of cheating.
  25. The biker/speeder gang and other Tatooine toughs are made up of Niktos, reptilians with spiky face horns first seen as guards on Jabba’s skiff in Return of the Jedi and named in a partial homage to the line “Klaatu barada nikto” which is used in the classic science-fiction film The Day The Earth Stood Still (1951). This was the source also of the Klatooinians, the bulldog-faced race who were introduced as Jabba’s henchpeople on the skiff (in the form of one named Barada) and now are another crime family in Mos Espa as explained in this series. (Just as with Chewbacca being similar to sabaka (dog in Russian), Nikto in Russian means no-one, and barada means beard -and Barada and many of the Klatooinians have long wispy fu manchus.)
  26. The story of Boba Fett’s time with the Tusken Raiders shares many similarities with A Man Called Horse (1970), starring Richard Harris. In this film Harris, a British aristocrat, is captured by indigenous Americans and used as a pack animal for the tribe. He is able to prove his fighting skills in battle, which impressed the chief. He learns to communicate with the natives and eventually becomes a member of the tribe, after participating in a painful ceremonial trial.
  27. Corey Burton, who plays Cad Bane, also voiced the character in Star Wars: The Bad Batch (2021) and Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008).
  28. Cad Bane, modeled after Lee Van Cleef’s “Bad” character in The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly has a striking similarity to Snake Walker, aka Frog Killer, from The Muppet Movie (1979).
  29. After Morrison’s appearance in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002), artists began to use his likeness to depict Boba Fett without his helmet – most notably in Star Wars: Clone Wars: Chapter 21 (2005) and some Legends stories. “Infinities” and “Star Wars Tales” stories have also depicted the unmasked Boba Fett bearing a strong resemblance to Morrison long before he voiced and portrayed Boba Fett.
  30. The sub-culture of young people in Mos Espa, who actively modify their bodies with mechanical parts, call themselves The Mods. All of The Mods ride on pristine, well detailed hover scooters. They are a reference to a 1960’s subculture from the United Kingdom called “mods”, famed for riding pristine, well detailed scooters. Their tidy and even dapper appearances among the desolate environment of Tatooine can also be seen as a reference sapeurs, a subculture from Africans countries such as Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda Sapeurs emulate the elegance and manners of colonial predecessor dandies, even while living in poor neighborhoods.
  31. Sophie Thatcher and Pedro Pascal worked together in Prospect (2018).
  32. According to Temuera Morrison, Boba Fett’s quote “Like a Bantha!” in the episode The Book of Boba Fett: Chapter 2: The Tribes of Tatooine (2022) was unscripted and meant as a joke. It became so popular that it not only spawned countless of memes, but it was also the most popular phrase he was asked to sign on autographs.
  33. Fans of the Dave Filoni produced “The Clone Wars” series will immediately recognize Cad Bane in S1E6, and also recognize Corey Burton returning to voice the character. In a story arc from Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) it is revealed that young Boba Fett was mentored by Cad Bane, at the time the Galaxy’s top bounty hunter, along with Aurra Sing after being orphaned by Mace Windu in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002).
  34. The Tusken Raiders capture Boba following his escape from the Sarlacc. They are later shown riding Banthas in single-file. This is to hide their numbers, just as Obi Wan tells Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: A New Hope (1977).
  35. In the Star Wars Holiday Special Boba Fett rides a Ichthyodont a dinosaur like creature , In The Book of Boba Fett he rides a Rancor and says he has rode much larger animals
