“Love, Rosie” is a romantic comedy, that was adapted to the big screen by the book with the same name.

Let’s find out more about the movie!

  1. Love, Rosie is a 2014 romantic comedy-drama film.
  2. It was directed by Christian Ditter.
  3. The screenplay was written by Juliette Towhidi.
  4. It was based on the 2004 novel Where Rainbows End by Irish author Cecelia Ahern.

  7. Filming began in May 2013 in Toronto.
  8. It then moved to Dublin and Howth.
  9. The scene where Rosie and Alex are lying on Rosie’s bed with baby Katie was not originally planned. The baby actress was asleep on the set and Lily Collins and Sam Claflin were on the bed with her, waiting while she rested. Director Christian Ditter decided to improvise and put it into the movie.
  10. Unlike the novel, the film is set over 12 years instead of 45 years

  19. Cecelia Ahern had a cameo but was cut out from the film.
  20. This was due to the fact that director, Christian Ditter noticed people whispering about whether or not it was Ahern in the background during the film’s screening. He felt that her cameo was a distraction to Rosie’s dialogue and the importance of the scene.
  21. Sam Claflin both played in movies which are based on Snow White.

  27. When Rosie leaves her dad at the hotel, the road sign says ‘roadworks, expect delays’. This forshadows the complications in Rosie’s life in the rest of the film.

  29. In the film, Waterhouse plays model Bethany, who comes between the title character and the love of her life, Alex, portrayed by Sam Claflin – and she admits she based her role on the girl who stole her boyfriend when she was a teenager
  30. Once a private residence dating back the Edwardian era, Tara Hall is now a dreamy boutique guesthouse overlooking the sea, Howth Harbour and Ireland’s Eye. This is the real Rosie’s hotel.
