Logan Trivia: 25 interesting facts about the film!

Logan is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Wolverine. Let’s see some amazing facts and trivia about it!

1.By November 2013, 20th Century Fox had begun negotiations for another solo film starring Wolverine. James Mangold was in negotiations to write the treatment for the film with Lauren Shuler Donner returning to produce.

2. Mangold said the sequel would be inspired by other Wolverine stories from the comic books and it would be made after X-Men: Apocalypse.

3. Hugh Jackman is set to reprise his role as Wolverine, after which his contract will expire, making the film his final appearance as the character. David James Kelly was hired to write the script for the film.

4. Following the film’s announcement, Jackman took to his Twitter page and asked what fans would like to see in his final Wolverine appearance.

5. Following the suggestions of Twitter users, Jackman thanked his fans for their input. As of August 2015, Liev Schreiber was in talks to reprise his role as Victor Creed / Sabretooth.

6. In February 2015, Patrick Stewart confirmed his involvement in the film while stating that he would not be featured in X-Men: Apocalypse.

7. Hugh Jackman revealed in February 2015 that he wanted to play the character until he dies.

8. He also hinted at the film being an adaptation of the Old Man Logan comic storyline, which was confirmed by the story’s writer, Mark Millar.

By April 2016, Boyd Holbrook was cast in the film to play an unnamed relentless and intense head of security for a global corporation, while Richard E. Grant was revealed to have been cast as an as-of-yet unnamed mad scientist.

12. In the same month, Simon Kinberg stated that the film would be set in the future.

13. Towards the end of the month, Stephen Merchant was cast in an unspecified role. In May 2016, Eriq La Salle and Elise Neal were cast in unspecified roles.

14. Logan takes place in the new timeline established after the events of X-Men: Days of Future Past. Kinberg says the film “takes place in the future, and as you and others have reported, it is an R-rated movie. It’s violent, it’s kind of like a western in its tone. 15. On March 28, 2015, Jackman posted on social media a picture of Wolverine giving the middle finger with his claw, coupled with the hashtag “#OneLastTime.”

16. On October 19, 2016, Jackman tweeted a six-second video hinting at a new trailer for the film.[40] The first trailer debuted the following day, to the tune of Johnny Cash’s cover of “Hurt”.

17. The North American green band trailer was released first. An international red band version of the trailer, featuring slightly more graphic violence than the original, also premiered later that day

18. The film is scheduled to be released on March 3, 2017. The title Logan was announced by Jackman on October 5, 2016.

19. It was believed that after the sucess of Deadpool (2016), 20th Century Fox decided to aim for an R rating for this film, unlike the other Wolverine movies. However, it was confirmed in an interview with X-Men producer Simon Kinberg that this was not the case, and the R rating was always going to happen.

20. Stephen Merchant is the second actor to portray the mutant Caliban, after Tómas Lemarquis in X-Men: Apocalypse (2016).

21. In the trailer, in the scene where Logan is seen drinking at a graveyard, one of the graves has the surname “Peters” written on it. It is a reference to the actor Evan Peters, who portrays Quicksilver in the X-Men films.

22. Both Hugh Jackman and Richard E. Grant have starred in a Dracula movie: Grant was in Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992), and Jackman was in Van Helsing (2004).

23. Richard E. Grant is the fourth Game of Thrones (2011) actor to join the X-Men series. After Peter Dinklage (Boliver Trask), Ed Skrein (Ajax), and Sophie Turner (Jean Gray).

24. Although it’s the final movie in the Wolverine trilogy, the film will act as a reboot rather than a sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) and The Wolverine (2013) as it exists in an alternate timeline established by X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) and X-Men: Apocalypse (2016).

25. The film is based on the X-men storylines “Old Man Logan” (an aging Logan sets out for one last adventure), “Mutant Massacre” (mutants being slaughtered) and “X-23” (Wolverine encounters a female infant clone of himself pursued by Mr Sinister).
