Damaged Trivia | 20 facts about the movie

Damaged is a 2024 action thriller film directed by Terry McDonough and starring Samuel L. Jackson, Vincent Cassel and Gianni Capaldi.

Let’s find out more about the movie!

  1. Damaged is a 2024 action thriller film.
  2. The film was directed by Terry McDonough.
  3. Samuel L. Jackson, Vincent Cassel and Gianni Capaldi star in the movie.
  4. It follows Chicago-based detective Dan Lawson (Jackson) who investigates a series of serial killings in Scotland alongside another detective, Walter Bravo (Cassel). As the case continues, Lawson discovers a pattern similar to another killing spree he handled five years prior.
  5. The film was released in select theaters.
  6. It was released on demand and digital on April 12, 2024.
  7. It generally received negative reviews from critics.
  8. In March 2023, it was announced that filming began in Scotland.
  9. Filming wrapped in May 2023.
  10. Its running time is 97 minutes.
  11. On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 29% of 17 critics’ reviews are positive, with an average rating of 4.6/10.
  12. DCI Boyd carries a firearm with him throughout the movie. This is contrary to firearms protocols. Scottish police do not routinely carry firearms.
  13. When the Scottish detective crashes his BMW while chasing the murderer, the airbags do not deploy. Same for the automatic seat belt, while this is a modern BMW.
  14. Suspects provide an alibi and are let go. The alibi is later confirmed to be true. Despite this, the suspects would have been arrested until their alibi was confirmed.
  15. DCI Boyd repeatedly investigates alone. Scottish Police Procedures require two officers at all times for the sake of corroboration. By attending crime scenes, suspects, witnesses or other important lines of investigation alone, he would be ruining any evidence seen or heard, which would be disregarded by Scottish Courts due to lack of corroboration.
  16. DCI Boyd attempts to question Macgregor at his front door. This is illegal, can not be carried out alone, can not be carried out away from a controlled Police Station and no suspect was ever given their rights prior to conversation attempts. Which is again illegal in Scotland and in breach of human rights.
  17. DCI Boyd continues working on the case even after his wife becomes a victim of the same murder spree. This would never be allowed and would result in any evidence gained from Boyd to be inadmissible in a court of law, shattering the case.
  18. When Boyd is looking for his wife in his house, he dials her mobile phone and tracks the sound. When he discovers the phone it’s inert and dark despite the incoming call. It’s a small detail.
  19. The story was written by Paul Aniello, and Gianni Capaldi.
  20. Matthias Potsch is responsible for cinematography.
