- Cyntoia Brown murdered Johnny Mitchell Allen on the 5th of August in 2004.

- On January 7, 2019, Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam announced he was commuting Cyntoia Brown’s sentence of life in prison to 15 years already served, plus 10 years of supervised parole, starting on August 7th, 2019.
- Brown will be released on August 7, 2019, after spending 15 years in prison.
