Borat was a mockumentary comedy fil, that gained global success in 2006. Recently, after more than 10 years the sequel was released.

  8. The movie is a sequel to 2006’s Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan.
  9. Baron Cohen had said in 2007 that he had retired the Borat character.
  10. Despite that, he was spotted in 2019 in the disguise, and was seen filming in mid-2020, leading to speculation of a second Borat film.

  41. The credits end with a disclaimer saying that the film is not affiliated with the government and people of Kazakhstan.
  42. However, this message twice misspells the country’s name as “Kasakhstan”.
  43. If the price for Tutar’s surgery of $21,751 would have been in Tenge, the Kazakh currency, as asked by Borat, it would have been around $51.
  44. According to Sacha Baron Cohen, while filming at the rally in Olympia, the militia present had been antagonizing Black Lives Matters protesters nearby.
  45. The group sent some protesters in undercover and were the first to realize that it was Cohen on stage as Country Steve.
  46. Word got out to the crowd and they attempted to storm the stage.
  47. According to Cohen, one person had even reached for their handgun. Since Cohen hired the security, he was safely able to get off stage with ample time before the crowd stormed the stage.

  52. A shot of Borat speaking to the camera while the crowd of villagers following him required multiple takes because his lines were drowned out by their chatter.
  53. The name of Borat’s daughter, Tutar, translates to “Daughter” in Estonian (“Tütar”).
  54. With respect to his scene with Borat’s daughter, Rudy Giuliani has defended himself on Twitter by stating that he was “tucking in his shirt after taking off recording equipment.”
  55. The film’s creators were sued for fraud after including an interview with Holocaust survivor Judith Dim Evans.
  56. Evans died before the film’s release, but her heirs brought the lawsuit alleging that she did not consent to the commercial use of her likeness in the film. Baron Cohen-who dedicated the film to her memory-claimed that he broke character to reveal to Evans that the piece was a bid to reduce her concern about the anti-Semitic comments that Borat makes. The lawsuit was dismissed on October 26.
  57. A GoFundMe campaign started by Jones’ pastor raised over $50,000 for her in three days and more than $150,000 by the end of the week. Baron Cohen donated $100,000 to her community of Oklahoma City, with funds disbursed by her church.
  58. Jones was cast as an angel in a comedy film as a result of her appearance in Borat Subsequent Moviefilm.
  59. Sid Miller, Donald Trump, and Donald Trump Jr. were originally in the film, but their scenes were cut.
  60. The village sequences set in Kazakhstan were shot in Romania but not the same village as the previous film after negative feedback from the villagers. Romanian actors were hired for a few parts.
