What is “phantom rain”?

Did you know that there is a type of rain called “phantom rain” and it is never visible to us? 

“Phantom rain” is a natural phenomenon in which rain evaporates before it reaches the ground and is very characteristic of deserts.

In this case, rain pours down from the sky but the ground never gets moist.
