During the World War II and Nazis’ plan to eradicate all Jews from Europe, Danes saved almost all of the Danish Jews.
In 1943 around 7, 500 Danish Jews were about to be deported to German concentration camps. Danish citizens spontaneously decided that this would not going to happen and started planning their fellow citizens’ rescue risking their own lives.
Almost all of the country’s Jews could finally escape the clutches of the Nazis and find refuge in neutral Sweden.
