We know that sleep is vital to our health. Researchers have stopped searching how important is sleep because even if sleep could be overcome there would be at least one animal that would figure it out. However, the more we study sleep, although we do not know exactly how anyone exactly benefits from it, it all points out that it is absolutely essential.
In fact, mice that are kept awake, die in a couple of weeks. But what animals need to sleep the most? Here is a list of them:
- house mice – 12.5 hours
- cats – 12.5 hours
- lions – 13.5 hours
- platypuses – 14 hours
- chipmunks – 15 hours
- Sloths – 18 hours
- giant armadillos – 18.1 hours
- little brown bats – 19.9 hours
