Nikola Tesla was by most accounts the greatest inventor of his era, and maybe of modern history. He was Although you probably have heard about him, you might not know the kinds of inventions he pioneered but are misattributed to other inventors most of the times.
For starters, tesla started a revolution in electricity. He is the real inventor of the light bulb, that Thomas Edison later on managed to sell successfully. He also was the inventor of alternating current, bringing electricity to the masses (and you thought Ben. Franklin discovered the Electricity) without which electricity would cost double to produce, we would need a power plant in every city and cables would have to be much more thick! In addition to all these, he was the first person to conceive and build a hydro-electric power plant in Niagara Falls.
He also was the first one to discover X-Rays but never experimented fully because he found out how dangerous they are. Scientists who followed Tesla’s work thought they could cure blindness and died from experimenting with them.
Radio, was another one of Tesla’s inventions. Marconi used 17 of Tesla’s patents to make it and Tesla let him because he thought he is “a nice fellow”. The radar is another good one. He came up with the idea during World War I but Edison, who was head of R&D on the american navy didn’t fund him to produce it because he thought it was not useful!
Tesla also pioneered the Transistor and invented Remote Controls, neon lights, electric motors and wireless communications.
